THE FREE-SPIRITED SAGE OF ART, PATTI SMITH, IN ISTANBUL!
Patti Smith Quartet will take the stage in Istanbul on May 17, 2026 at Bonus Parkorman, organized by Stagepass!
The legendary poet, musician and activist of rock music, Patti Smith, is preparing to perform in Istanbul once again after many years. Smith, together with the Patti Smith Quartet — formed by master musicians she has collaborated with for years — will meet music lovers on May 17, 2026 at Bonus Parkorman in an event presented by Stagepass.
Recognized as one of the most influential artists of our era for her profound impact on both literature and music, Patti Smith promises an unforgettable night in Istanbul with her timeless works, iconic stance, and unparalleled stage energy. The concert will feature not only classic tracks from her extensive discography but also selections from her poetic performances that have been rediscovered in recent years.
With her 1975 debut album Horses, which reshaped the direction of rock music, Smith celebrates over 50 years of a groundbreaking career. Songs like “Because the Night” and “People Have the Power” turned her into both a musical and political icon. A four-time Grammy® nominee, she also achieved rare literary success with her book Just Kids, which won the National Book Award in 2010.
An inspiration to artists such as Morrissey, Madonna, Nirvana, and Michael Stipe, the free-spirited sage of art continues to influence new generations of musicians. From Taylor Swift to Phoebe Bridgers, from Dua Lipa to Florence Welch, many artists regard her as both a muse and a symbol of freedom.
Patti Smith continues to create, write, perform, and support human rights and environmental causes to this day. At her Istanbul concert, she will once again share her multifaceted creative energy with the audience.
The Patti Smith Quartet consists of guitarist, music writer, and creative partner since 1971 Lenny Kaye; drummer Jay Dee Daugherty, who joined in 1975; Tony Shanahan on bass and keyboards, who has been part of the band since 1996; and guitarist Jackson Smith, who joined the lineup in the past decade.
The Patti Smith Quartet concert represents a long-awaited and significant reunion for audiences in Türkiye.
